Mill Creek offensive tackle Jack Franklin won online voting this week as the Daily Post’s Fans Choice Player of the Week.
The senior won a voting competition with Central Gwinnett’s Jarren Williams, Grayson’s Herbert Winborne and Meadowcreek’s Chauncey Williams.
Each week during the football season, the Daily Post will nominate four players for its Fans Choice Player of the Week. Online voting at will begin by Monday morning and will end Thursday at noon. The winner will be featured online and in the print edition.
Franklin earned the honor after posting a winning blocking grade and eight pancake blocks in the Hawks’ 44-17 win over North Gwinnett last week.
“I am so proud of Jack, especially the last two weeks,” Mill Creek head coach Shannon Jarvis said. “He has elevated his play to where he’s among the best offensive linemen to ever play here. He’s a proven player for us who’s started since his sophomore year, but these last couple of weeks he has really played well. And it’s had an impact on our whole offensive unit. Jack’s a quiet kid that doesn’t say much. He’s very non-assuming. But his passion of play and mentality has always been impressive during our games.”
